RIDGEFIELD CT SCHOOL GUIDE
Ridgefield School District comprises six “neighborhood” elementary schools (K-5, some with pre-k programs), 2 middle schools (grades 6-8) and one high school (9-12). Barlow Mountain Elementary, Scotland Elementary & Ridgebury Elementary each feed into Scotts Ridge Middle School. Veteran’s Park Elementary, Farmingville Elementary School, and Branchville Elementary School each feed into East Ridge Middle School. Both middle schools feed into Ridgefield High School.

Barlow Mountain Elementary School (PK-5)
Barlow Mountain Elementary School is the "newest" school in Ridgefield and was converted from what used to be the town recreation center. Located off of Barlow Mountain Road, off of Route 116, it shares a campus with Scotland Elementary School though the campus is thoughtfully designed that both schools feel completely separate (and even have different school hours!). The schools each pull their population from differing directions. Barlow pulls from mostly East and South of the campus and Scotland pulls from North and West. Barlow Mountain also adjoins a popular daycare center in Ridgefield. The daycare has a separate drive up, parking and entrance. Both Barlow Mountain and Scotland Elementary Schools are super convenient for families with multiple children at different schools as the elementary, middle and high school are all within 5 minutes drive of each other.

Branchville Elementary School is located in the Branchville area of Ridgefield (near where 102 and Route 7 meet). The school sits at the eastern tip of its district and pulls its population from west of its campus, from neighborhoods all along Wilton border up through Spring area. Branchville Elementary School feeds into East Ridge Middle School.

Veteran's Park Elementary School is in downtown Ridgefield and within walking distance of many the attending students. The school is the smallest public elementary school in Ridgefield and pulls its population mostly from the center of town.

East Ridge Middle School (6-8)
East Ridge Middle School is the original and largest middle school in Ridgefield. It sits toward the center of town (on East Ridge Road) and is walkable to town center. It is popular for East Ridge Middle Schoolers to "walk to town" with friends after school, especially on 1/2 days. This walk to town freedom is almost a "right of passage" as kids grow older and mature. Their Scott's Ridge counterparts might also join the fray, but alternative transportation must be arranged.

Scotts Ridge Middle School (6-8)
Scott's Ridge Middle School is the newest middle school in Ridgefield and shares a campus with Ridgefield High School. Located on the outskirts of town (off of Route 116), Scotts Ridge students don't have the walk to town option like their East Ridge counterparts, but the do have one of the most beloved principals in Ridgefield, Timothy Salem, whose wonderful spirit and kind heart permeates the whole culture!
